How we collect information from you

We collect information via website, over the phone, form, in person, email or via relevant government bodies.

How we collect your information from other sources

Often we will collect your information direct via a borrower’s broker, and will do this by phone, email or in person.

We will also collect information from you via relevant government bodies.

When the law authorises or requires us to collect information

We may collect information about you because we are required or authorised by law to collect it.

For example, we are required to verify your identity under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.

There are also verification of identity standards for mortgagors in each state. We collect information to verify your identity to comply with the property law requirements of each state.

We may also need to collect your personal information in order to comply with taxation laws.

How we use your information

We collect, use and exchange your information for a number of reasons. We use your information to verify your identity, in order to comply with the relevant laws and to prevent fraud.

We also may use your information to determine whether you are eligible for the product you are applying for.

What happens if you do not provide us with your personal information?

If you do not provide us with your personal information we may not be able to provide you with the product or service you have requested and we may not be able to verify your identity or protect against fraud.

In particular, if you do not provide us with information to allow us to verify your identity we will not be able to provide you with any products or services.

Who we disclose your personal information to

When necessary, we disclose your information to relevant reporting bodies and credit reporting bodies. We also disclose your details to the funder (including credit reports).

Information is only disclosed to relevant bodies in Australia, unless the funds come from an Investor located overseas, in which case we will disclose the information to the relevant funder.

Prior to disclosing any information to an overseas recipient we verify that they have systems in place to comply with Australian privacy standards.
